FG Commends Gombe State for N40bn IGR Growth Through Public Service Reforms

During a courtesy visit to Gombe State, Dr. Dasuki Arabi of the Bureau of Public Service Reform lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for establishing a bureau to implement public service reforms aimed at enhancing service delivery.

The state has embraced reforms such as the introduction of a biometric attendance system to tackle absenteeism and eliminate ghost workers, leading to improved efficiency. By digitalizing operations and reducing fraudulent practices, Gombe's IGR surged from N6 billion in 2019 to N40 billion in 2024.

Alhaji Abubakar Hassan, the Director-General of Gombe State BPSR, attributed the success to the political will of Governor Yahaya and pledged to continue strengthening institutions to promote transparency and deliver better services to the people.
