Enugu State Achieves Record IGR Growth of 1,464% to N406.7 Billion in 2025

Enugu State's IGR has surged by 1,464% from N26 billion in 2023 to N406.7 billion in 2025 under Governor Peter Mbah's administration. The Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIR) Chairman, Emmanuel Nnamani, announced this growth, highlighting the state's focus on tax revenue-driven funding and tax reforms.

The state's IGR growth was achieved through technological advancements, widening the tax net, and reducing revenue leakages. Enugu State's total IGR composition in 2025 was N51.5 billion from tax revenue and N355.2 billion from non-tax revenue.

The state's infrastructure development projects and tax compliance efforts have significantly contributed to this substantial revenue increase.
