FG Commends Stakeholders on ELPS Compressor Project Progress

The Federal Government of Nigeria praised Lee Engineering Construction Company Limited, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), and other stakeholders for their commitment to timelines on the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) Midline Compressor Project. This commendation was made by Ga Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, during an inspection tour of the ELPS Midline Compressor Station in Ologbo, Okada, Edo State.

Ekpo expressed satisfaction with the project's progress and urged all parties to maintain momentum to ensure successful completion. He emphasized the importance of strategic investment in gas transport infrastructure to unlock economic growth and enhance energy security, which is vital for Nigeria's industrial agenda.

The ELPS Midline Compressor Project is expected to significantly increase gas pressure along the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System, thereby boosting gas transport volumes for industrial and commercial users, including power generation plants across Lagos and Western Nigeria. The project is reported to be 92.7% complete as of January 2026, with expectations to reach 94.88% by May 2026.
