Nigeria's Federal Government Launches Inspire Live Education Initiative

The Federal Government has introduced a virtual teaching initiative called Inspire Live to connect pupils in underserved schools and communities lacking subject teachers to live instructors. This initiative aims to address manpower shortages and improve access to quality education across Nigeria.
Dr Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, announced that the government would provide free data for students to access these virtual classes. Inspire Live will allow pupils in primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary schools to participate in interactive lessons delivered remotely by qualified teachers.
The platform covers all subjects in the national curriculum, including English Language, Mathematics, and Sciences. Alausa explained that the program would enable schools to access live lessons according to a centrally prepared timetable, allowing students to log on when specific subjects are being taught.
Additionally, recorded lessons will be available for students to reinforce their learning. To mitigate concerns about poor internet access, the government has collaborated with the Nigerian Communications Commission to provide zero-rated data for students using the platform.
