Samuel Johnson Launches Etude App to Enhance Learning

Samuel Johnson, a post-graduate student at the University of Lagos, launched the Etude virtual learning platform after receiving the federal government's Students Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), which provides up to N50 million in equity-free funding to student-led ventures. Johnson, who leads a team of 28 at WalterSam Technologies, developed the platform to enhance learning outcomes and academic excellence by offering structured learning, tutorial videos, and Computer Based Examinations (CBT).

The Minister of Education, Dr. Moruf Alausa, praised the initiative as part of the government's efforts to foster entrepreneurship among students. Adebayo Onigbanjo, representing the minister, noted the establishment of a pipeline to identify student innovators.

Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship education for wealth creation and reducing unemployment. Professor Folasade Ogunsola stated that the launch of the Etude app signifies an opportunity for students in a rapidly changing world influenced by technology and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Sunday Adebisi shared Johnson's journey, highlighting his work on the project since his second year.
