Marwa NDLEA Drug Abuse Initiative

Brig-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, Chairman of the NDLEA, sought the support of traditional rulers in combating drug abuse in Nigeria during a visit to the Oba of Benin. He highlighted the severity of drug abuse in the country and introduced a new strategy for cannabis growers.

The NDLEA seeks the support of the Oba of Benin to promote its Alternative Development Initiative, encouraging cannabis farmers to switch to legitimate crops. The program aims to improve livelihoods and has begun as a pilot in Ondo State.
