Defence Minister Calls for Enhanced Intelligence Collaboration

On Thursday, in Abuja, Defence Minister Gen Christoph Musa (rtd) called on Nigeria's intelligence agencies to enhance collaboration to improve operational effectiveness in combating insecurity. Musa noted that while the agencies perform effectively, their operations often occur in silos, necessitating a coordinated approach to ensure impactful actions.

He highlighted the importance of intelligence in asymmetric warfare, where threats are often unidentified and differ from conventional warfare. Musa urged agencies to utilize all available intelligence, including human, technical, and public input, to strengthen national security.

He encouraged citizens to report relevant information promptly. The meeting, which marked a new beginning for collaboration among intelligence agencies, was attended by key military leaders, including Lt Gen Emmanuel Undiandey, head of Nigerian Army Intelligence, and representatives from the Navy, Air Force, and paramilitary agencies.

Musa reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting enhanced capacity for intelligence agencies.
