FG Renames Lagos-Calabar Highway After President Tinubu

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially renamed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to honor President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This decision was announced by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, during a media briefing in Abuja.

Umahi stated that the renaming reflects Tinubu's long-standing vision for the project. The highway, which spans 750 kilometers from Victoria Island to Lekki, is a significant infrastructure milestone, featuring a six-lane carriageway with a 25-meter median reserved for a future railway line.

Additionally, President Tinubu has approved a 400-kilometer extension of the highway, which is part of a broader initiative to reconstruct and modernize critical transport infrastructure across Nigeria. The project aims to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activity, with the overall highway design originally intended to link various states, including Akwanga in Nasarawa State and Maiduguri in Borno State.
