Tinubu Approves N111bn for Northern Superhighway Project

President Bola Tinubu approved the immediate release of N111 billion for the construction of a 700-kilometer superhighway that will connect Akwanga, Jos, Bauchi, Gombe, Biu, and Maiduguri. This initiative was announced during a groundbreaking ceremony led by Minister of Works David Umahi, marking the commencement of the project, which is part of Tinubu's Renew Hope Agenda.

The first phase includes a 125-kilometer stretch traversing Nasarawa, Kaduna, and Plateau State. Tinubu emphasized that the superhighway will serve as a major economic and social artery, linking communities and markets, thereby enhancing security and stimulating economic activities.

He noted that work has already begun on the Gombe to Maiduguri section and assured that the project will create job opportunities and foster skill development among local youth. The superhighway is part of the federal government's broader road infrastructure development program, which includes several ongoing projects across the country.
