FG Convicts 150 Terrorism Suspects in Abuja Trials

On Tuesday, Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi disclosed that 150 terrorism suspects have been convicted in the latest round of trials at the Federal High Court in Abuja. This announcement came during a briefing with journalists, highlighting the ongoing exercise that has already produced significant results in hundreds of terrorism-related cases.

Fagbemi explained that approximately 160 cases were heard on the first day of this trial phase, leading to the convictions. He noted that the legal process remains ongoing, with several cases scheduled for hearing.

Nearly 300 matters are set to be addressed during this period, with additional cases expected to conclude by the end of the week. The current phase of trials is the fourth conducted by the present administration, demonstrating the government's commitment to confronting terrorism through legal means.

The trials are being handled simultaneously by 10 judges in different courtrooms in Abuja, with Fagbemi urging Nigerians to remain patient as the process continues.
