FG Signs N690bn Contracts for Major Road Projects

On a recent date, the Federal Government of Nigeria, led by President Bola Tinubu, signed contracts totaling over N690 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of major roads in the South-west and North-west regions. The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Works in Mabushi, Abuja.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, emphasized that these projects are strategic for national infrastructure, aiming to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth across the country. The projects will utilize rigid pavement concrete technology to ensure durability.

Notably, the reconstruction of the 122-kilometer Mando-Birnin Gwari road in Kaduna State is part of Tinubu's campaign promises from the 2022-2023 election period. The contracts were awarded to various contractors, including Messrs J.

Patel & Sons Nigeria Limited for N178.1 billion, Messrs JRB Construction Company Limited for N295.9 billion, Messrs Truecret Solutions Limited for N101.8 billion, and Messrs Peculiar Ultim Concern Limited for N114.8 billion. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to effective monitoring and quality assurance for timely project delivery.
