Nigerian Government Launches Electricity Subsidy and Power Sector Enhancements

The Nigerian government, led by Minister Adebayo Adelabu, unveiled plans to introduce electricity subsidies for vulnerable households and boost the power sector's commercial viability. Initiatives include exporting solar panels to Ghana, integrating 700MW from the Zungeru hydropower plant into the national grid, and unbundling the transmission company.

Funding sources include the World Bank, JICA, and other key partners to drive renewable energy expansion and increase power access.
