Nigeria Launches 14 New Curricula for Health Education

The Federal Government of Nigeria unveiled 14 new curricula for Environmental Health and Public Health programs to be implemented in polytechnics and monotechnics. The event took place in Abuja, with Minister of Environment Balarabe Lawal represented by Conservator-General Ibrahim Goni.

Lawal stated that these curricula would enhance opportunities for Environmental Health Officers and other professionals, providing a framework for producing graduates equipped with essential knowledge and skills for public health and national development. This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on human capital development and sustainable health practices.

The curricula were developed through collaboration between the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), emphasizing the importance of cooperation among regulatory bodies and educational institutions. Professor Agwu Nkwa Amadi, a keynote speaker, highlighted the initiative's significance in strengthening Nigeria's health workforce.

The Executive Secretary of NBTE, Idris Bugaje, was also present at the unveiling.
