EFCC Arraigns Senior Lawyer Mike Ozekhome for Fraud

On February 27, 2026, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Chief Mike Agbedor Abu Ozekhome, SAN, at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja. He faces 12 counts of amended charges, including forgery of a Nigerian international passport and conspiracy to commit fraud concerning property ownership in the United Kingdom.

The charges stem from actions allegedly taken in 2020 and 2022, where he purportedly facilitated claims of ownership for a property at 79 Randal Avenue, London. During the proceedings, prosecuting counsel Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, highlighted the need for an amendment to the charges, which the court accepted.

Ozekhome pleaded not guilty, and the court granted him bail of N10 million, with conditions including the surrender of his passport and a surety. The case is set for further hearings on March 13, 2026, and trial dates on April 15 and 16, 2026.
