Court Dismisses Forgery Charges Against Prof. Ozekhome

On a recent Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Peter Kekemek, struck out forgery charges against Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN.

The charges were initially brought by the Federal Government in connection with a property in London that belonged to the late former Federal Capital Territory Minister, General Jeremiah Useni. The decision to withdraw the charges was made by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) following a review of the case file.

Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, representing the prosecution, informed the court of the AGF's instructions to withdraw the charges, which were filed under the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

Chief Paul Erokoro, SAN, leading Ozekhome's defense team, did not oppose the withdrawal. Justice Kekemek ruled that the application to withdraw the charges was granted, marking the charges as officially withdrawn.
