FiberOne Aims for 1 Million Subscribers in 5 Years

FiberOne, a Lagos-based fibre broadband provider, is targeting one million subscribers within five years, significantly increasing from its current base of over 40,000 subscribers. CEO Lanre Ore stated that the company aims to leverage the growing demand for high-speed connectivity to expand its reach across Nigeria.

In an interview with PENRESA for an upcoming TIME Africa special on Nigeria, Ore emphasized the potential for innovation in a market facing challenges such as high costs of network maintenance. The company has not disclosed the capital required for this ambitious target or its plans for network expansion.

As of the end of 2025, active ISP subscriptions in Nigeria were reported at 352,006, with FiberOne, Starlink, and Spectranet holding nearly 70% of the market. FiberOne plans to extend its services to 15 states, focusing on underserved areas.

The company is also evolving its enterprise infrastructure to cater to businesses needing high bandwidth, particularly in sectors like artificial intelligence and fintech.
