Super Eagles to Have Two FIFA Windows in 2026

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will have only two FIFA international windows in 2026 due to changes in the international match calendar approved by FIFA. The first window is scheduled from September 21 to October 6, allowing national teams to play up to four matches over 16 days.

The second window will occur from November 9 to 17, limited to nine days for two matches. This new arrangement means that Nigerian players in the English Premier League will remain with their clubs until after Matchday 5 before joining the national team.

The September/October window is particularly significant as it provides an extended period for the Super Eagles to prepare for international fixtures following the World Cup 2026. The adjustments are part of FIFA’s men’s International Match Calendar for 2025-2030, which aims to enhance player welfare and the quality of international matches.

The previous structure of separate September and October windows has been replaced with this new format.
