Aguocha: Fighting for Kanu's Freedom Cost Me Benefits

Obinna Aguocha, representing the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, stated that his ongoing fight for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has resulted in the loss of many personal benefits. Aguocha highlighted the challenges faced by the Igbo people in Nigeria and reiterated the importance of Kanu's release.

He noted that while he has faced setbacks, he does not regret his commitment to this cause. Aguocha also called for unity among Igbo leaders to effectively advocate for Kanu's freedom, contrasting their efforts with the successful release of Yoruba leader Sunday Igboho.

He commended Governor Alex Otti for initiating a mobilization drive among Southeast governors to push for Kanu's release. Aguocha addressed Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, asserting that he cannot be defeated by Otti in the upcoming 2027 elections.
