Fintiri Commissions Reconstructed Yola Market Project

On Tuesday, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commissioned the reconstructed Yola market, a project valued in multi-million naira, designed to boost the socio-economic landscape of the state. This initiative was undertaken following a devastating fire outbreak last year that resulted in loss of lives and properties, causing significant hardship for families.

The new market features 936 shops, including 120 open and 816 lockup shops, and is equipped with a stronger perimeter fence, wider access roads for fire trucks, a fire service station, a comprehensive water reticulation system, overhead tanks, fire hydrants, and modern toilet facilities. Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of this project in restoring hope and improving safety for traders, aligning with his administration's commitment to sustainable solutions.

He urged traders to take full ownership of the market and directed the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry to ensure capable management for the facility's upkeep.
