Ahmad Fintiri Commissions Rebuilt Yola Modern Market

The new market includes 936 shops, comprising 816 lock shops and 120 open stalls, along with wider access roads, a dedicated fire service station, fire hydrants, an extensive water supply network, and modern sanitation facilities.

This reconstruction addresses the challenges faced by traders due to previous fire outbreaks and poor sanitation, which caused significant financial losses. Governor Fintiri emphasized the commitment of his administration to provide durable infrastructure and restore the livelihoods of thousands of traders.

He commended the local contractor for successfully executing the project, demonstrating the capacity of local firms to deliver major public infrastructure when given the opportunity. The state government approved the allocation of 350 shops to traders, exceeding the original request of 307.

The market is named Modibbo Adama Modern Market in recognition of its historical heritage.
