Fintiri Submits Three Commissioner Nominees to Assembly

On a Tuesday, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State submitted three commissioner nominees to the Adamawa State House of Assembly for confirmation. The nominees are Sali Idri from Maiha LGA, Muham Suleiman from Mubi North LGA, and Chubado Moham from Jada LGA.

This submission follows the resignation of Adamu Atiku Abubakar from his position, which was communicated through a letter that did not specify reasons for his departure. Political observers have linked Abubakar's exit to Governor Fintiri's recent defection from the People's Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The House Speaker, Bathiya Weslei, directed the clerk to notify the nominees to appear for screening on March 9, 2026. Additionally, Adamu Atiku Abubakar's resignation has fueled speculation regarding the remaining two commissioners who have also exited the administration.
