Fire Outbreak in Kano Destroys Shops and Offices

On Thursday night, a fire outbreak occurred in Kano, specifically along Murtala Mohammed in the Fagge Local Government Area, affecting the Takumbo Market and nearby structures. The Kano State Fire Service received a distress call at 10:54 PM and deployed personnel from the Metropolitan Fire Station to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a storage building engulfed in flames, measuring approximately 300 by 200 feet. Preliminary investigations indicated that the fire originated from a salvage yard, leading to significant destruction of goods and properties.

The flames spread to adjacent buildings, damaging two offices, two parlors, two toilets, a kitchen, and two stores located on the ground floor of the Kanawa building. Alhaji Sani Ana, the Director of the Kano State Fire Service, urged residents and business owners to observe safety measures to prevent such disasters and to report any fire incidents promptly to enable a swift response.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded during the incident.
