Fire Destroys Residential Building in Ibadan, No Casualties

On Saturday, a fire ravaged a six-room residential building located in Kosi Koro Compound, Oja Igbo Area, Ibadan. The incident was confirmed by Hon.

Maroof Akinwand, the chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, who reported that the fire was caused by an unattended cooker that ignited nearby combustibles. Thick smoke engulfed the ancient building, prompting a swift response from firefighting teams who worked to subdue the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding structures.

Fortunately, there were no casualties recorded during the incident. The Nigeria Police Force, specifically the Agugu Division, provided security at the scene to ensure safety during the firefighting operations.

The prompt action of the fire service was instrumental in controlling the situation and minimizing property loss, which was estimated to be in millions of naira.
