FIRS, Nigeria Customs team up to fast-track National Single Window project ahead of 2026 deadline

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) are collaborating to accelerate the implementation of the Nigerian National Single Window (NSW) platform ahead of the Q1 2026 deadline. In a recent meeting, the agencies reviewed their joint efforts and agreed on concrete steps to integrate and implement the project, which was launched by President Bola Tinubu in April 2024.

The FIRS Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, emphasized the importance of synergy between the agencies to meet the target date, noting that the first phase is scheduled for March 2026. The NCS representative, Adewale Adeniyi, highlighted the need for alignment with the NSW as a priority policy of the current administration to develop a modern trade ecosystem.

The NSW Director, Tola Fakolade, explained that the project has moved beyond the assessment stage to the critical development and integration phase, which will enhance Nigeria's global trade standing, attract foreign investment.
