First Lady Advocates for Respect Towards Elderly Citizens

The First Lady of Nigeria made a call for greater respect for elderly persons in a message delivered in Abuja, coinciding with the observance of the 2026 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. She stressed that senior citizens deserve maximum respect and highlighted the importance of dedicating time to serve the nation.

The First Lady, while addressing the issue, also reminded the younger generation, referencing Mr. Tinubu, that they will eventually grow old and should therefore honor and respect the elderly.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the treatment of senior citizens and the need for societal respect towards them.
