Nigeria's First National Land Transport Policy Awaits Final Approval by FEC

Minister Alkali disclosed that Nigeria's first national land transport policy is awaiting final approval by the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The policy was discussed during a conference in Abuja organized by the Charter Institute of Transport Administration Nigeria (CIOTA).

Alkali highlighted recent achievements in the rail sector, including the completion of projects like the Lagos-Kano standard gauge line and the ongoing construction of the Kano-Maradi line. The policy also includes plans to improve the Nigerian Railway Corporation's operations through public-private partnerships and e-ticketing platforms.
