Sokoto Governor Flags Off Final Rally for Argungu Festival

On Friday morning, Sokoto State Governor Ahmadu Aliyu officially flagged off the final motor rally to Argungu, marking the activities leading up to the Argungu International Fishing Festival. The governor urged drivers participating in the rally to avoid reckless driving and to strictly observe traffic rules throughout the competition.

The rally will commence in Sokoto and pass through Shagari and Jega before reaching its final destination in Argungu town. Governor Aliyu praised the organizers for choosing to make the rally a Nigerian vehicle event, highlighting it as an initiative that showcases Nigeria's steady march toward technological advancement and national development.

He described the Argungu International Fishing Festival as a platform for promoting cultural heritage, peace, coexistence, and unity among the diverse ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria. Additionally, he commended Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu for his foresight in reviving the internationally renowned festival.

Balarab Kadadi, the Sokoto State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, expressed gratitude for the successful flag-off ceremony, while Ibrahim Sulaiman Kukun thanked Governor Aliyu for the warm reception given to the rally team.
