Five Dead, Ten Injured in Ogun State Crash

On Thursday, a tragic accident occurred along the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway in Ogun State, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to ten others. The crash, which took place around Iyana Egbado, involved a white Mazda E2000 with registration number KRD809XC, carrying a total of 20 people, including six adult males, eleven adult females, one male child, and two female children.

According to Afolabi Odunsi Oyewol, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, the fatalities included one adult male, two adult females, one male child, and one female child. Ten other individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries, while five people escaped unhurt.

The crash was attributed to speed and overload. Injured victims were transported to General Hospital Ifo and Oreof Specialist Hospital for treatment, while the deceased were deposited at the morgue of General Hospital Ifo.

The Ogun State sector command of the FRSC expressed condolences to the victims' families and urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, especially during the festive period.
