Two Dead, Five Injured in Ogun State Road Crash

On Tuesday, a tragic road accident occurred along Ota-Idiroko Road in Ogun State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five others. According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency, the accident happened in the early hours of the day when a truck collided with other vehicles on the expressway.

The crash involved five vehicles: a white man diesel truck with number plate EKI 918 YC, a Suzuki minibus with number plate AGL 81 YF, another Suzuki minibus with number plate LND 928 YD, and two yellow TV tricycles with number plates AGL 781 QP and AAA 300 QV. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the driver lost control due to fatigue and excessive speed.

Among the 20 people involved, there were nine males and 12 females. The injured were rushed to the hospital, while the deceased were taken to the General Hospital in Ilaro.

The Ogun State traffic authorities continue to investigate the incident, highlighting the recurring challenges of road safety in the region.
