NFF Appoints New Coaches for U-17 Women's Team

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of Joi Jeged as the assistant coach for the U-17 women's national team, known as the Flamingos. Alongside Jeged, Idakwo Aighewi has been appointed as the team's goalkeeping trainer.

Aighewi is a former captain of the Falconets and participated in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in 2008. The head coach of the Flamingos is Akeem Ishola Busari.

This coaching staff will assist in preparing the team for the qualification campaign for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, which will take place in Morocco. The NFF's decision to strengthen the coaching team is part of their broader effort to enhance youth women's football development and improve Nigeria's performance, following a third-place finish in the 2022 tournament.
