FMBN Allocates 430 Homes to NMDPRA Workers in Housing Scheme

The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has initiated a housing scheme for workers of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), allocating 430 housing units as part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme. This initiative, covering projects in Abuja, Kano, and Lagos, is a collaborative effort involving the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, FMBN, Family Homes Funds Limited, NMDPRA Staff Cooperative Society, CityCode Mortgage Bank, and private developers.

Allocation letters were presented to beneficiaries at the NMDPRA Auditorium in Abuja. Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, reaffirmed the government's commitment to expanding affordable housing, with plans for a social housing initiative to deliver 100 units in every Local Government Area.

FMBN's Managing Director, Shehu Usman Osidi, noted that 359 units in Karsana, Abuja, and 14 in Janguza, Kano, had been subscribed by NMDPRA workers, with additional mortgage applications being processed. FMBN aims to enhance housing finance offerings, including a Diaspora Mortgage Loan.
