Flour Mills Nigeria Launches 5th Innovation Prize for Cassava Industrialization

Flour Mills Nigeria (FMN) has announced the commencement of the 5th edition of the Prize for Innovation, emphasizing cassava industrialization. The competition seeks to advance homegrown innovations in cassava products and processes to enhance Nigeria's agricultural value chain.

Winners in the small and medium-scale enterprise (SME) and student categories stand a chance to receive cash prizes ranging from N100,000 to N5 million. The initiative reflects FMN's commitment to supporting local innovations and building solutions within Nigeria's food system, particularly focusing on cassava to achieve industrial self-sufficiency and economic progress.

The competition, open until March 16, 2026, aims to deepen scalable cassava-focused innovations and reduce dependency on imported raw materials. FMN's strategic investments over the years have positioned the company as a key player in the food and agro-allied sector in Africa, contributing to the development of Nigeria's agriculture and food industry.
