PDP Defends Jonathan's Candidacy Against Keyamo's Critique

The Tanimu Turaki faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) responded to Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo's comments about former President Goodluck Jonathan's potential candidacy for the 2027 presidential elections. The faction dismissed Keyamo's remarks as indicative of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)'s anxiety over Jonathan's possible return to power.

In a statement issued by Ini Ememobong, the PDP's National Publicity Secretary, the faction urged Keyamo to concentrate on addressing the challenges facing the aviation sector rather than commenting on internal party matters. The statement emphasized that Jonathan's candidacy reflects a desire for political stability and economic growth in Nigeria.

It also criticized Keyamo for his past criticisms of the government and suggested that he should focus on the pressing issues affecting ordinary Nigerians, rather than attempting to intimidate or influence political choices. The PDP faction reaffirmed the citizens' right to support leaders of their choice without interference from those in public office.
