Xavi: Football May Never See Another Messi Again

Xavi Hernández, the former Barcelona midfield coach, stated that football may never produce another player like Lionel Messi, highlighting Messi's unique talent and mastery of the game. In an interview on Rio's YouTube channel, Xavi, who played alongside Messi for 15 years at FC Barcelona, praised the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner as a phenomenon who stood above every player, including Neymar.

He noted Messi's technical skills, physicality, mental competitiveness, and his ability to elevate the performance of those around him. Xavi recalled first watching Messi as a teenager and recognizing his exceptional qualities.

He also revealed his attempts to convince Messi to return to FC Barcelona, although Messi is currently playing for Major League Soccer's Inter Miami and preparing to represent Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
