In the second quarter of 2026, three international customers in the Nigerian power sector paid $8.67 million of the $18.84 million invoiced, resulting in a remittance rate of 46.02%, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). The countries involved were Benin, Nigeria, and Togo, with electricity sourced from Société Béninoise d’Energie Electrique (SBEE), Compagnie Energie Electrique du Togo (CEET), and Société Nigérienne d’Electricité (NIGELEC). NIGELEC, supplied through Mainstream, paid its entire invoice of $5.79 million.
SBEE paid $1.73 million of its $2.46 million invoice, while CEET paid $1.15 million of its $1.68 million invoice. Unpaid invoices totaled approximately $10.17 million.
