Former Gombe Deputy Governor, PDP Chieftain Join APC

Former Gombe State Deputy Governor, Tha'anda Jason Rubainu, and prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Hon Jerry Joseph Damara, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The two political heavyweights, along with other PDP members, joined the ruling party in a significant realignment of political power in Gombe State.

Rubainu, a former deputy governor under Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, and Damara, a philanthropist and business mogul, cited the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya as their inspiration for the move. Governor Yahaya welcomed the defections, highlighting the strengthening of the APC in the state and across Nigeria.
