Labaran Maku Joins SDP, Aims for Nasarawa Senate Seat

Labaran Maku, a former minister, has officially joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and is aiming to contest for the Nasarawa North senatorial district seat. He registered with the SDP at Wakama Ward in Nasarawa Eggon.

Maku's decision to leave the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is attributed to ongoing crises within the party. In his registration speech, he mentioned receiving calls from across the state urging him to run for the senatorial seat, highlighting the influence of his late brother, Godiya Akwashiki, on his decision.

Maku, who has a notable political track record, expressed readiness to serve the SDP and the people of Nasarawa North, emphasizing that his decision to contest is driven by the will of the people rather than personal ambition.
