Former NFA Chairman Ibrahim Galadima Passes Away

Ibrahim Galadima, the former chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), died on Saturday following a prolonged illness, as confirmed by former NFA Secretary General Sani Ahm Toro. Born in 1951 in Kano, Galadima was a prominent figure in Nigerian sports administration.

He played a crucial role in restructuring the NFA and served as chairman of the Kano State Sports Council from 1981 to 1983. Galadima was also a member of the National Sports Commission and was elected vice president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee in 1985, a position he held until 1987.

He was reappointed as chairman of the Kano State Sports Council and was instrumental in the organization of the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship, which was initially scheduled to be hosted in Nigeria but was later relocated due to health-related challenges. Additionally, he served on the organizing committee for the CAF Youth Championship in 2002 and was elected chairman of the NFA, further solidifying his legacy in Nigerian sports administration.
