Henry Nwosu, Former Super Eagles Star, Dies at 62

Henry Nwosu, a former midfielder for the Super Eagles, passed away at the age of 62. His death was announced on Saturday by fellow 1980 Africa Cup of Nations winner Segun Odegbami, who revealed that Nwosu had spent several days in intensive care at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.

Nwosu was the youngest member of Nigeria's 1980 Africa Cup of Nations squad, which secured the country's first continental title on home soil. He was widely recognized for his vision, creativity, and technical ability in midfield.

After retiring from professional football, Nwosu remained involved in the sport as a coach and mentor, contributing to the development of younger players. His death comes shortly after the Nigerian football community mourned the loss of another respected figure, former Super Eagles coach Adegboy Onigbind, who led Nigeria in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
