Gunmen Attack Kebbi Mosque, Four Dead, Five Injured

On a Wednesday, gunmen attacked a mosque in Dadinkowa Village, Maiyama Local Government Area, Kebbi, resulting in the deaths of four worshippers and injuries to five others. The attack is believed to be a revenge mission, occurring when the assailants opened fire on the congregation.

Injured victims were quickly transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Security sources indicated that this assault followed a failed ambush on a convoy led by Major General Bemgha Koughna, the General Officer Commanding the 8 Division, during an operational tour of the state.

Troops operating in the Fansan Yamma area reportedly thwarted the ambush near Mayama Hill, neutralizing five suspected terrorists and recovering various items, including firearms and ammunition. The security officials believe that the terrorists suffered significant losses during the failed ambush, which may have triggered the mosque attack.
