Terrorists Kill 34 in Coordinated Kebbi State Attack

On Wednesday night, suspected terrorists launched a coordinated attack in rural communities of Kebbi State, resulting in the deaths of no fewer than 34 individuals. The assault targeted villages in the Arewa Local Government Area, particularly affecting Mamunu Village, where 16 people were killed, alongside five in Awashaka and three in Masama.

Survivors reported that the gunmen, described as highly organized, opened fire indiscriminately on unsuspecting residents, leading to panic and forcing many to flee their homes. Security sources indicated that operations have been deployed to restore order and assist survivors while tracking the perpetrators to dismantle their network.

Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer Bashir Usman confirmed the incident but did not provide further operational details. Alhaji Abdullahi Idri Zuru, the special adviser to the governor on community strategy, condemned the attack as heartless and unprovoked, expressing deep concern and commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
