The Osun State Police Command arrested six suspects, including four staff members of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), for allegedly vandalizing electricity installations in Ikirun, Osun State. The police, acting on credible intelligence received around 0600 hours, dispatched operatives from the Ikirun Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO). The arrested individuals were identified as Onabamiji Emmanuel (55), Bolaji Odusanya (51), Alimi Akeem (36), Balogun Kehinde (52), Oyewo Hammed (31), and Oladosu Hammed (22).

Emmanuel, Odusanya, and Akeem were IBEDC staff, while Balogun was a security personnel for IBEDC. Oyewo and Oladosu were welders.

Items recovered included a cutting machine, a generating set, and a welding machine. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura has directed the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, with plans to charge the suspects in court.
