Four Arrested for Cattle Rustling in Oyo State

On March 13, 2026, at approximately 2:00 AM, the Oyo State Police Command received a distress call regarding an armed invasion at a cattle owner's camp in the Igbojay area of Ado-Away. The police mobilized a joint team, including local security partners, to respond to the incident.

The suspects, identified as Sekooni Wale (30), Jimoh Toheeb (25), and principal suspect Moshood Abdullahi (38), were apprehended after abandoning their vehicle, a Mazda bus with registration number KMA 178 ZY, loaded with stolen cattle. Two cattle herders, Ibrahim Musa and Ibrahim Umaru, were also found at the scene.

Following interrogation, Toheeb confessed to their involvement in the crime. The State Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, praised the swift response of the police and local security partners, which led to the recovery of the stolen livestock and the prevention of further criminal acts.
