Ogun Police Arrest Two Cattle Rustlers, Recover N1.7M Cow

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspects, Muham Monsur and Olaseind Olatunji, involved in cattle rustling. The arrest followed a distress call regarding an invasion of a dairy farm located in Omitoro via Coker, Ifo, Ibogun, where the suspects reportedly stole a cow valued at N1.7 million.

The operation, conducted by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, was swift, leading to the apprehension of the suspects as they attempted to flee the scene in a mini bus commonly known as "Korop." The police recovered one stolen cow and a knife used in the commission of the crime. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were part of a four-man gang, with two accomplices escaping into the surrounding bush.

DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi stated that investigations are ongoing to track down the fleeing gang members. CP Bode Ojajuni commended the swift response of the operatives and assured that the command remains committed to eliminating criminal elements in the state.
