Oyo State Celebrates Safe Return of Abducted Students

A thanksgiving service was held in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, to celebrate the safe return of schoolchildren and teachers who were abducted for 56 days. The event was attended by notable figures including Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and the efforts of the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, and Nigeria Police Force in the rescue operation.

Professor Wole Alamu, husband of the rescued principal, expressed gratitude to God and the Nigerian government for the successful operation. Reverend Segun Oyelowo emphasized the importance of divine intervention in the rescue, while other officials, including Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and Speaker Abba Tajudeen, acknowledged the collective pain of the families affected by the kidnapping.

The Ooni urged security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering to prevent future attacks on schools and vulnerable communities. The event marked a significant relief for families and the community, ending a painful period of anxiety and uncertainty.
