Tinubu Praises Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils and Teachers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers from Oriir community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after 56 days in captivity. In a statement issued on Friday by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the coordinated efforts of the Armed Forces, the Department of State Services, and the Nigerian Police Force, which led to the neutralization of terrorists and the arrest of eight individuals involved in the abduction.

He recognized the trauma experienced by the victims and their families and described the rescue as a significant relief for the nation. Tinubu urged the Oyo State government to enhance security measures around schools to prevent future incidents.

He also expressed gratitude to the security forces for their successful operation, which ended the ordeal of the victims and emphasized the need for justice for the family of Michael Oyedokun, a teacher who was brutally murdered during the abduction.
