Ogun State to Relocate Illegal Motor Park at Sango Tollgate

The Ogun State government has announced plans to relocate an illegal motor park and eradicate street trading at Sango Tollgate to address the increasing frequency of road accidents in the area. During a visit to the site, Ola Oresanya, the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, disclosed that Governor Dapo Abiodun has directed an inspection due to growing concerns over recurrent accidents resulting in loss of lives.

The illegal motor park has been operating for 25 years, and the government aims to prevent the return of traders and buses to the area by constructing barricades alongside the tollgate. The Ogun State Waste Management Authority, represented by Ado Odo Ota Local Government officials, will enforce compliance with the new order.

The relocation and eradication exercise is set to commence in a few days, as the government seeks to find a lasting solution to the safety concerns at the tollgate.
