Ogun State Demolishes Structures at Sango Tollgate

The Ogun State Government has undertaken a demolition exercise along the Sango Tollgate corridor, targeting makeshift structures and roadside traders. This initiative, announced on Tuesday, aims to curb the increasing number of road accidents in the area.

Kafayat Lawal, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, led the operation, which follows repeated warnings to traders to vacate the area. The government has stated that alternative locations will be provided along Plaza Road for street traders.

Lawal emphasized that the government will not tolerate street trading in the tollgate area, which has become a source of concern due to frequent accidents leading to loss of life and injuries. The Ogun State Government has pledged to clear the area and relocate illegal motor parks and street traders to safeguard lives and properties.

Any trader found returning to the tollgate underbridge area will face legal consequences. The initiative reflects the government's commitment to public safety.
