Fresh Details on Dajoh’s ‘Removal’ as Benue Speaker Emerge

Aondona Dajoh, the former Speaker of the Benue State House Assembly, abruptly resigned from his position, sparking speculation about the reasons behind his sudden departure. According to journalist Ismail Omipidan, Dajoh's resignation may have been linked to his rejection of the nomination of Professor Yangien Ornguga as a Commissioner.

Omipidan suggested that Dajoh's independence and refusal to approve Ornguga's nomination may have led to his removal. Ornguga, who is the younger brother of the Tor Tiv (a traditional ruler of the Tiv people), was reportedly nominated by Governor Hyacinth Alia.

However, lawmakers raised concerns about Ornguga's suitability for the position, leading to tensions that ultimately cost Dajoh his seat as Speaker. Omipidan hinted that Ornguga's nomination may still be presented to the House in the future, potentially causing further turmoil.
