AIG Jimoh Exonerated in VGC Land Dispute Allegations

Fresh documents have emerged that exonerate Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Olohundare Moshood Jimoh regarding allegations of facilitating a land grab in a disputed property in Victoria Garden City, Lagos. The documents indicate that police were deployed solely to maintain law and order after developers submitted formal petitions to the Inspector-General of Police and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.

These petitions, dated December 5, 2025, and January 20, 2026, claimed ownership of the property and sought police protection against threats and disruptions. The developers alleged that Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi fraudulently took control of over 40 plots of land and mobilized thugs to disrupt their activities despite receiving approximately ₦1.5 billion in settlement.

The documents also refute claims made by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, who accused Jimoh of orchestrating murder charges against Akanbi. Police sources clarified that their deployment was to preserve peace and protect lives, not to facilitate land acquisition.
